Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Alive Outside located?
We’re based in Killruddery Estate in Bray, Co. Wicklow, just 40 minutes from Dublin city centre. The Adventure Centre is easily accessible by car via the M11 and via public transport. For directions, view our location on Google Maps.
Is there parking available?
Yes, there is on-site parking available in Killruddery. As an environmentally conscious business, we strongly encourage carpooling wherever possible to reduce the environmental impact of our events. Sharing a ride with friends or family not only helps the planet but also adds to the fun and camaraderie of the day!
What should I wear?
We recommend comfortable, weather-appropriate sportswear and sturdy footwear to ensure you’re ready for the outdoors. Trail runners or astro boots are ideal for navigating the terrain and providing the grip and stability needed for uneven or muddy conditions. Please note that flip-flops and sandals are not suitable.
For water-based activities, bring a wetsuit and a change of shoes as footwear must be worn in the water at all times.
For other activities, be prepared in case you get wet or muddy – it’s all part of the fun! Pack a change of clothes and a towel so you can freshen up afterwards and keep your car or bus clean for the journey home.
For cooler weather, we recommend dressing in layers to stay warm and packing a waterproof jacket in case of rain. A little preparation goes a long way in making your day comfortable and enjoyable!
What happens in bad weather?
At Alive Outside, we embrace the elements and our activities go ahead rain or shine because it’s all part of the adventure! However, in cases of extreme weather that could compromise safety, we will notify participants as early as possible about any changes or cancellations.
The Adventure Centre operates from February to November, with activities designed to proceed within the typical weather expectations of Ireland. That said, we understand the potential for extreme or severe weather and have a Rescheduling Policy in place to address these situations.
Our goal is to make your experience as enjoyable and safe as possible. If we deem weather conditions hazardous and unsafe for participants, we reserve the right to postpone and reschedule your activity. This is particularly relevant for Lazer Tag, as the equipment cannot be used in very wet conditions.
Our Rescheduling Policy
- We aim to notify the Lead Booker of any postponement no later than 21:00 the night before the activity. Due to health & safety considerations, our decision is final.
- If we need to postpone, we will first contact the Lead Booker by phone and follow up with a confirmation email.
Your Options in the Event of Postponement
- Switch to a New Date: Reschedule your activity for an alternative date.
- Request a Full Refund: To claim a refund, you must reply to the email within 48 hours of receiving the postponement notification. Unfortunately, we cannot process refunds after this period.
If your contact details (email or phone number) change, please inform us at [email protected] to ensure you receive timely updates.
Important Notes
- Alive Outside is not liable for any additional costs incurred by participants, such as accommodation or transport, resulting from the postponement or rescheduling of a prebooked activity.
- Our decisions are based on updates from Met Éireann, so we recommend checking the latest weather forecasts to prepare for your day.
Rest assured, your safety is our top priority, and we’ll do everything we can to keep you informed and minimise disruption. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your allocated start time to ensure you can check in and get ready without rushing. Late arrivals may have their activity time reduced due to scheduling constraints.
Do I need to complete a consent form?
Yes, all participants must complete a Consent Form before taking part in the activities. A link to the digital form will be emailed to the Lead Booker along with their payment receipt or ticket confirmation.
If you’re bringing children who are not under your guardianship, please ensure their parent or legal guardian completes and signs the form in advance.
For health and safety reasons, only participants with a fully completed and signed Consent Form will be allowed access to the Adventure Centre.
To avoid any delays during check-in, we strongly recommend sharing the digital forms with participants or parents/guardians as early as possible. This will help ensure a smooth and efficient check-in process on the day.

- A towel and change of clothes.
- Sturdy footwear (trail runners or astro boots).
- Light rain jacket, sun cream and insect repellent (seasonal).

Is Alive Outside safe?
Yes, your safety is our top priority. In collaboration with Lansdowne Consultants, we’ve implemented robust health and safety procedures. Activities are thoroughly risk-assessed and our instructors provide a detailed briefing before each session.
Health Awareness
The Alive Outside Adventure Centre is located within Killruddery Estate, a vast working farm, home to a diverse range of plants and animals, both domestic and wild. As part of our commitment to health and safety, we encourage all participants – and parents/guardians of children – to familiarise themselves with the symptoms of infectious diseases, particularly Weil’s Disease (Leptospirosis). This is an acute disease spread by contact with infected wild and domestic animals.
- If you or your child experience any unusual symptoms after your visit, please seek medical advice immediately.
Important Information and Resources
While we do our utmost to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, Alive Outside cannot accept liability for any illness contracted – participation is at your own risk. For further information on disease prevention and care, please refer to the resources below:
What if I have a medical condition?
If you or someone in your group has a medical condition such as asthma, hay fever or diabetes, please notify your instructor at check-in. This ensures we can accommodate any specific needs.
Can I spectate if I’m not participating?
For insurance and safety reasons, only participants involved in activities – along with the Lead Booker and their assigned helpers – are permitted to enter the Adventure Centre.
If the booking is for a group of children, an adult must be present with the group at all times while on-site. By completing a booking for the Adventure Centre, the Lead Booker acknowledges and agrees to ensure an adult is responsible for supervising the group of children throughout their visit.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants during their adventure.
Do you take photos or videos of participants, and how are they used?
Alive Outside regularly has an official photographer at the Adventure Centre capturing action photos and videos of participants. These images are always taken in group settings and never focus on individuals alone.
The photos and videos may be:
- Posted to Alive Outside’s social media pages, including Facebook and Instagram, in dedicated albums.
- Used for future promotional materials, such as websites, brochures, posters and advertisements (both print and online).
If you would like a photo removed from our website or social media pages, please contact us at [email protected] and your request will be handled promptly. You can also request that we stop using your image for future materials. While we will ensure it is not included in new publications, it may continue to appear in materials already in circulation.
For any questions about how Alive Outside uses participant photos, please contact our Data Protection Officer, Aidan Walsh, at [email protected].
What should I do after my visit?
After a fun-filled day at the Alive Outside Adventure Centre, we recommend taking the following steps to ensure your safety and well-being:
- Shower and Change: Wash off any mud or dirt by showering and changing into fresh clothes as soon as you get home.
