What Happens at an Alive Outside Summer Camp?
Every day at Alive Outside brings a different mix of activities. Children move between team sports, outdoor adventure challenges, creative missions and strategy games – keeping energy and enthusiasm high throughout the day.
Activities across the week include:
- Active team sports and group games
- Outdoor adventure and exploration challenges
- Creative building and problem solving tasks
- Strategy missions and group competitions
- Bubble Football, Lazer Tag and the Alive Outside Olympics
Children are grouped by age and supported by experienced Instructors. The focus is always on encouragement, inclusion and teamwork. Many children arrive at camp not knowing anyone and leave at the end of the week with new friendships and plenty of great memories.
New for 2026: Adventure-Led STEM
For 2026, Alive Outside is introducing Adventure-Led STEM as a core part of the camp programme.
STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths – but at Alive Outside it never feels like a classroom. Children work through real challenges and team missions that build practical thinking skills through action and play. There are no worksheets and no sitting still.
This makes Alive Outside one of the few summer camps in Dublin and Wicklow to combine outdoor adventure with genuine skills development in a fun, active way.
Day Trip to Killruddery Adventure Centre
Every camp week – regardless of location – includes a special day trip by bus to the Alive Outside Adventure Centre at Killruddery Estate in Bray. Home to the famous Hell & Back Junior obstacle course and Ireland’s Fittest Family.
During the trip, children take part in:
- HELL & BACK Junior – fun obstacle challenges including climbing, crawling and teamwork tasks that build confidence and create plenty of laughs
- Outdoor team missions – group challenges solved through strategy and cooperation
- Large scale adventure games in a wide-open outdoor setting
For many children, the Killruddery day trip is the highlight of the entire week.
